National Botanical Garden
Originally known as the Lake Gardens, it is located 1 mile from City Centre and is the first recreational park in Kuala Lumpur. 'Lake Garden' covered an area of 70 hectares, established in 1888 as the result of AR Venning. Lake Garden also has changed its name to Taman Tasik Perdana. It was inaugurated by the late Tun Haji Abdul. Razak Hussein, Prime Minister of Malaysia on May 1, 1975. It is surrounded by various interesting places such as the Parliament, Heroes Monument (Tugu Negara) and National Museum, but its strategic location in the city center has attract visitors from home and abroad to visit the park. Until recently, on the 28th of June 2011, the Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak (coincidentally the son of the Late Tun Razak) has officially changed its name to the Lake Botanical Gardens.
