National Botanical Garden

Originally known as the Lake Gardens, it is located 1 mile from City Centre and is the first recreational park in Kuala Lumpur. 'Lake Garden' covered an area of ​​70 hectares, established in 1888 as the result of AR Venning. Lake Garden also has changed its name to Taman Tasik Perdana. It was inaugurated by the late Tun Haji Abdul. Razak Hussein, Prime Minister of Malaysia on May 1, 1975. It is surrounded by various interesting places such as the Parliament, Heroes Monument (Tugu Negara) and National Museum, but its strategic location in the city center has attract visitors from home and abroad to visit the park. Until recently, on the 28th of June 2011, the Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak (coincidentally the son of the Late Tun Razak) has officially changed its name to the Lake Botanical Gardens.

History of Lake Taiping

The concept of the Park Lake and surrounding areas take them to look back at the wonderful memories of the Lake District in England which is compelling and was the center of focus for British poets and writers who find inspiration from the landscape and natural design of the beauty of Scottish Highlands. Here Constance Sydney Holmes tried to translate the beauty of Loch Katrine, which being immortalized by Walter Scott in his poem "Lady of the Lake" (1847).
